Sea Salt:

Synthetic marine salt for aquariums with fish and less delicate corals and invertebrates. When setting up new aquariums it is recommended that the first animals are placed no sooner than 10-14 days after filling the aquarium. After dissolving the salt, freshly prepared marine water can be used immediately.

Preparation: Dissolve the salt in previously prepared demineralised water. Water temperature should be about 24°C (75°F). For salinity of 30 ppt dissolve about 345 g (12.16 oz)/10 l (2.7 US gal) of water. Stir the solution vigorously for about 15 min. When the salt is fully dissolved and the solution clear the saline water is ready to use. Keep the salt in a dry and dark place. Once dissolved, use the salt within 5 days. Keep out of reach of children. Product for aquarium use only. Not suitable for human consumption. Safety data sheet available on request.

Worth knowing: Aquaforest products are manufactured in the EU under strict laboratory supervision to meet the highest quality standards. Each product is prepared from carefully selected raw components in quantities proven to yield consistent compositi on.

How is our Marine Salt product range tested?
We mix our Marine Salt in 1 metric tonne (2204lb) batches, and 3 separate samples per batch are collected during the production stage for testing. Each of these samples is dissolved in 15 litres (4US gal) of RO water. Our experienced team of professionals perform ICP-OES analysis to verify that the chemical composition is within consistent range, and to rule out the presence of unwanted contaminants at the same ti me. Note: Even though our salt is thoroughly mixed, not every bucket/box will be identical. The parameters can vary slightly between containers and around a 2-3% variation is acceptable. This fluctuation is a result of both physical properties of the mix and the limitations of the processing techniques available. These variations are still smaller than the typical margin for error for popular hobbyist test kits.

Reef Salt:

Fully synthetic marine salt created for aquacultured corals. This formula is designed to create the best conditions for marine animals. The micro-nutrients and macro-nutrients in Aquaforest Reef Salt fulfill corals’ demand for proper growth and pigmentation. After dissolving the salt, your freshly prepared marine water can be used immediately. The salt mix is enriched with amino acids and Vitamin C. The addition of Vitamin C encourages growth and has positive effects on the overall health of all aquarium inhabitants.

Preparation: Dissolve the salt in previously prepared demineralized water. Water temperature should be about 24°C (75°F). For salinity of 33 ppt (1.025 S.G.), dissolve about 390 g (13.75 oz.) in 10 l (2.7 US gal) of water. Stir the solution vigorously for about 15 minutes. Once the salt is fully dissolved and the solution is clear, the saline water is ready to use. Keep the salt in a dry and dark place. Once dissolved, use the salt within 5 days. Evaporation can change water parameters, so keep freshly mixed saltwater in a sealed container if you don’t use it right away. You should check the salinity of your saltwater again before use if you store it for a couple of days. This product is for aquarium use only. Not suitable for human consumption. Keep away from children. Safety data sheet available on request.

Probiotic Reef Salt:

Fully synthetic marine salt created for cultured corals. Its formula is designed to create the best conditions for marine animals. The micronutrients and macronutrients contained in the formula fulfil the demand of corals for proper growth and pigmentation. Probiotic bacteria contained in the salt reduce the content of nitrates and phosphates and prevent the growth of pathogenic bacteria in the marine aquarium. After dissolving the salt, freshly prepared marine water can be used immediately. When setting up new aquariums, it is recommended that the first animals are placed no sooner than 10-14 days after filling the aquarium. Due to the content of probiotic bacteria the dKH value should be maintained at 6.5-8.0. Higher values may have a negative effect on the growth of SPS corals.

Preparation: Dissolve the salt in the previously prepared demineralised water. Water temperature should be about 24°C (75°F). For salinity of 33 ppt dissolve about 390 g (13.75 oz)/10 l (2.7 US gal) of water. Stir the solution vigorously for about 15 minutes. Once the salt is fully dissolved and the solution is clear, the saline water is ready to use. Keep the salt in a dry and dark place. Once dissolved, use the salt within 24 hours. When using Probiotic Reef Salt, it’s not recommended to perform water changes larger than 10-15%. Keep out of reach of children. Product for aquarium use only. Not suitable for human consumption. Safety data sheet available on request.

Reef Salt +:

For aquarists with fully stocked reef tanks, Reef Salt+ is an ideal salt for you. With elevated levels of ionically balanced key macronutrients such as alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium it was designed to keep up with even the most nutrient demanding and rapidly growing coral colonies.

Unlike the natural reef environment with abundant levels of micro and macronutrients,  an aquarium is a closed ecosystem in which valuable micro and macro trace elements are constantly being consumed by corals at different rates. Continuous access to macronutrients is one of the most important aspects of keeping a healthy and stable reef aquarium. For those not dosing microelements individually, regular water changes with Reef Salt + will help provide these valuable elements back into the water at a balanced ratio for corals to absorb and aid in their growth, coloration, and immunity.

What makes Reef Salt+ unique?

The unique formula of Reef Salt + was developed after years of research into the growth of corals at different parameters and colony sizes. As a result of our observations, we created this product for those with fully stocked tanks looking to meet the needs of their corals.

  • Designed for aquariums fully stocked LPS and or SPS corals
  • Increased levels of alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium levels
  • The rich composition of trace elements allows you the reduction of additional dosing to correct for differences in water parameters

The key to the success of marine aquariums is stable parameters, so using Reef Salt+ when doing regular 10% water changes creates an optimal condition for the growth and development of corals. High-quality salt not only supports better growth, it also promotes the construction of new skeletons, ionic exchange, improves coloration, and the natural photosynthesis process.

Dosage and storage

  • For best use, Reef Salt+ should be dissolved in RODI water at a temperature between 24-25°C (75-77°F) at a salinity of 33 ppt (1.025 S.G.)
  • Dissolve 390 grams of salt into 10 liters (2.19 US gal) of RODI water
  • Mix for approximately 15 minutes. Once completely dissolved, the saltwater is ready for immediate use
  • The dissolved salt should be used up within 3 days. Evaporation changes the parameters of the water, so keep the prepared saltwater tightly closed. If you store it  for several days, check its salinity before use
  • Safety data sheet available on request

Hybrid Pro Salt:

Introducing Hybrid Pro Salt; our most advanced reef salt yet. After years of observing reef tanks thrive on either natural seawater (NSW) or chemically pure laboratory-made salt, we wanted to create a Hybrid Pro Salt formula designed to deliver the benefits of both salts for our delicate reef inhabitants and modern aquaristics looking for more natural, probiotic-enriched reefing methods.

After collecting a variety of water samples from naturally thriving reefs across Egypt, Kenya, Indonesia, and Fiji our chemists and biologists analyzed the ICP results of these established coral reef habitats to create a set of parameters for even the most demanding corals. Unlike the ocean, an aquarium is a closed ecosystem and not all elements are consumed evenly. To compensate for absorption differences, we increased the levels of the most commonly consumed micronutrients and trace elements such as strontium and iodine for greater stability.

What makes Hybrid Pro Salt unique?

  • Hybrid Pro Salt incorporates chemically pure, laboratory-made salt with natural sea salt flakes from the cleanest waters of the North Atlantic Ocean
  • Proprietary blend of probiotic bacteria to reduce nitrate and phosphate levels while increasing color intensity and growth potential often inhibited by high phosphate levels.
  • Has a number of micro and macro trace elements and enriched with the highest quality amino acids and vitamins aiding in immunity and natural metabolic functions.

This new Hybrid Pro Salt formula creates conditions almost identical to those found in natural seawater while having the added benefit of probiotics to help maintain microbiological balance and safely lowers nitrate and phosphate levels.

Dosage and storage

  • For best use, Hybrid Pro Salt should be dissolved in RODI water at a temperature between 24-25°C (75-77°F) at a salinity of 33 ppt (1.025 S.G.)
  • Store salt in a dry, humidity-free place in a dark place
  • Safety data sheet available on request

TIPS

  • We recommend keeping the dKH between 7.5-8.5 to help the probiotic bacteria reproduce. Higher/lower levels may reduce bacterial activity
  • When setting up new aquariums, we recommend introducing the first fish/corals no earlier than 10-14 days after the tank is established and water parameters stabilized
