Metallic Gold/Bronze Acropora with Green Tones – Similar to Photo

🔹 Quick Stats
Care Level: Advanced
Temperament: Generally peaceful, but requires space for growth
Colour Form: An unusual combination of shadowed gold and bronze tones over contrasting green tissue, producing a subtle metallic appearance. Under blue/actinic lighting, the green develops stronger fluorescence while the warmer gold coloration creates additional depth and contrast.
Size: Frag – Similar to Photo
Water Conditions: 24–26 °C, dKH 7.5–8.5, pH 8.0–8.4, sg 1.024–1.026
Family: Acroporidae
Lighting: Moderate to High (PAR 200–400)
Water Flow: Strong, random and turbulent
Placement: Mid to High reef
Type: Representative Photo – Individual Frags May Vary

🧬 Overview
The Gold Shadow Green Acropora is an attractive unidentified Acropora sp. selected for its unusual combination of metallic gold/bronze pigmentation and contrasting green tissue.

Rather than displaying a single dominant fluorescent colour, this coral has a more complex appearance. The darker shadow-gold and bronze tones provide depth across the branches, while the underlying green tissue becomes considerably brighter under blue-spectrum lighting.

Under a balanced spectrum, the warmer gold and bronze pigmentation becomes more apparent, while actinic lighting brings out the fluorescent green — giving the coral a noticeably different appearance depending on the lighting conditions.

As the exact species and lineage are unknown, we prefer not to assign an artificial collector lineage. Final coloration and growth form may also develop differently depending on lighting, flow, nutrients and overall aquarium stability.

📸 Similar to Photo – Not WYSIWYG
The photograph is representative of the Acropora and frags available. You will receive a frag with similar coloration and characteristics, but the exact shape, branching, size and distribution of gold and green tones may naturally vary.

Selected for:
• Metallic gold / bronze tones
• Contrasting fluorescent green tissue
• Beautiful shadowed coloration
• Strong gold-to-green contrast
• Interesting unidentified Acropora variety
• Potential for further colour development
• Excellent SPS grow-out potential

🍽️ Care & Feeding
Acropora perform best in established reef systems with strong lighting, turbulent multidirectional flow and highly stable water chemistry. Measurable nitrate and phosphate should be maintained rather than deliberately reducing nutrients to zero.

Fine particulate SPS foods and amino acids may be offered as supplemental nutrition, but consistency in alkalinity, salinity, lighting and nutrient availability is considerably more important.

📈 Optimal Parameters

Parameter Ideal Range
Alkalinity (dKH) 7.5–8.5
Calcium (Ca) 420–450 ppm
Magnesium (Mg) 1300–1400 ppm
Nitrate (NO₃) 5–15 ppm
Phosphate (PO₄) 0.03–0.10 ppm

📍 Placement
Place in the middle to upper areas of the reef with strong, random and multidirectional flow. Approximately 200–400 PAR after acclimation is a sensible starting range for many captive Acropora, although the ideal intensity depends on the individual coral and its previous conditions.
