Overview
The Molten Ember Hammer is a cultured branching Euphyllia paraancora prized for its rare orange-splashed tips that look as though they've been kissed by flame. Unlike standard uniform hammers, this variant boasts a blotchy gradient that shifts under blue and actinic light β creating a flickering ember effect as the polyps sway in the current.
Each head displays slight variation, making this coral uniquely dynamic from every angle. A collectorβs choice for reefers seeking a hammer coral with unexpected warmth and visual complexity.
Care & Feeding
This Euphyllia does well in moderate lighting and gentle to moderate flow, allowing its fleshy polyps to extend fully. While it relies on photosynthesis via its symbiotic zooxanthellae, periodic target feeding with mysis shrimp, enriched brine, or coral-specific diets enhances color and growth.
Due to its semi-aggressive behavior, provide enough space from neighboring corals (4β6 inches) to prevent stings from its long sweeper tentacles, especially after lights out.
Optimal Parameters
-
Alkalinity (dKH): 8β11
-
Calcium (Ca): 420β460 ppm
-

Placement
Mount securely in the mid to lower portion of the tank where it can catch soft, diffused flow. Avoid placing directly in front of powerheads to prevent tissue damage. Ensure stable footing for branching growth and future fragging.
