🔹 Solar Sky Acropora

Acropora tenuis (Blue Tips, Orange-Light Colony)

🔹 Quick Stats

  • Care Level: Moderate to Advanced

  • Temperament: Peaceful

  • Colour Form: Subtle base coloration with vivid blue tips that pop under orange-toned or actinic lighting. The contrast between the blue tips and the warm glow of the colony creates a striking ultra effect.

  • Water Conditions: 24–27 °C, dKH 8–12, pH 8.0–8.4, sg 1.024–1.026

  • Family: Acroporidae

  • Lighting: Moderate to high (to enhance tip fluorescence and overall coloration)

  • Supplements: Calcium, Magnesium, Trace Elements, Amino Acids

  • Water Flow: Moderate — sufficient for healthy polyp extension

  • Placement: Mid to upper reef levels

🧬 Overview

The Solar Sky Acropora is an ultra morph of Acropora tenuis that features vivid blue tips accentuated under orange-toned lighting. This combination produces a dynamic, glowing effect across the colony’s branching structure. Its elegant branching allows full polyp extension, adding movement and visual depth to the display.

Ideal for hobbyists seeking a subtle yet captivating ultra centerpiece, the blue tips create a sharp contrast against the warm base under orange-light settings.

🍽️ Feeding & Care

While photosynthetic, this Acropora thrives with 1–2 supplemental feedings per week using fine particulate foods, coral-specific amino acid blends, or phytoplankton. Feeding promotes vibrant tip coloration, healthy growth, and full polyp extension. Stable water parameters are essential for maintaining ultra coloration and long-term health.

📈 Optimal Parameters

  • Alkalinity (dKH): 8–12

  • Calcium (Ca): 420–460 ppm

  • Magnesium (Mg): 1250–1350 ppm

  • Nitrate (NO₃): 0–10 ppm

  • Phosphate (PO₄): 0–0.05 ppm

📍 Placement

Place in areas with moderate to high lighting and gentle, steady water flow. Allow sufficient space for polyp expansion and avoid aggressive neighbours. Under orange or actinic lighting, the blue tips fluoresce vividly, producing a stunning, ultra-contrasting effect that enhances the colony’s presence in the reef.
