🧬 Overview
The Acanthastrea lordhowensis “Crimson Blizzard” is a beautiful Australian LPS coral prized for its striking red and white colour contrast and thick fleshy polyps. Acan Lords are well known for their vibrant colour morphs and relatively hardy nature, making them a favourite among both experienced reef keepers and collectors.

This specimen features intense crimson-red centres surrounded by bright white rings that give each polyp a bold and eye-catching appearance. Under reef LED lighting the coral develops strong fluorescence while maintaining its clean high-contrast colour pattern.

As the colony grows, additional polyps form around the base creating a dense and vibrant LPS cluster that adds texture and colour to reef aquascapes.

WYSIWYG:
You will receive the exact coral shown in the photo. Each specimen is individually photographed and selected for colour intensity, polyp structure and coral health.

Selected for:
• Strong crimson-red polyp centers
• Bright white and cream outer rings
• Thick fleshy Australian Acan polyps
• Excellent colour contrast under reef lighting
• Beautiful LPS colony growth potential

🍽️ Care & Feeding
Acanthastrea corals benefit from regular feeding and nutrient-balanced reef environments.

Recommended feeding 1–2× weekly:
• Mysis shrimp
• Finely chopped seafood
• LPS pellets or coral foods
• Target feeding during evening polyp expansion

📈 Optimal Parameters

Parameter | Ideal Range
Alkalinity (dKH) | 7.5–8.5
Calcium (Ca) | 420–450 ppm
Magnesium (Mg) | 1300–1400 ppm
Nitrate (NO₃) | 5–15 ppm
Phosphate (PO₄) | 0.03–0.10 ppm

📍 Placement
Place on the lower rockwork or sand bed where lighting is moderate and water flow is gentle. Provide enough space around the coral as Acan Lords can extend short feeding tentacles during feeding periods.

Avoid placing the coral too close to aggressive LPS species.
