Overview
The Solar Flare Bounce Shroom is a collector’s dream—each polyp a vibrant canvas of neon green, punctuated by fiery orange and golden yellow bubble-like vesicles that "bounce" under high-quality reef lighting. Cut-to-order and grown under ideal conditions, this premium Rhodactis strain brings a surreal, almost alien texture to the reef tank.
Highly sought after for its exaggerated vesicle structure, bold coloration, and premium growth form, this bounce mushroom is ideal for both collectors and aquascapers aiming for maximum impact with minimal aggression. Whether placed in isolation on an island rock or nestled into a shroom garden, it will demand attention.
Care & Feeding
The Solar Flare Bounce is low-maintenance but thrives best in stable systems with trace supplementation and nutrient availability. It is primarily photosynthetic but will benefit from occasional spot feeding of microplankton or amino-rich coral foods, especially during growth phases. Once settled, it expands generously, forming thick vesicles and textured folds that intensify with age and lighting.
Optimal Parameters
-
Alkalinity (dKH): 8-12
-
Calcium (Ca): 400-450 ppm
-
Magnesium (Mg): 1250-1350 ppm
-
Nitrate (NO3): 2-10 ppm
-
Phosphate (PO4): 0.01-0.05 ppm
Placement
Place the Solar Flare Bounce at the bottom of the tank in an area with gentle flow and indirect light. Too much light can flatten vesicles, so allow it time to adjust to stronger systems. For best display, mount it on an isolated rock to give it room to grow while controlling spread—mushrooms can become mobile over time. Do not place near high-stinging LPS or SPS corals.
