Overview

The Jason Fox Space Invader Pectinia is one of the most iconic USA Signature Corals in the reef hobby. It is instantly recognisable for its brilliant fluorescent yellow tissue, striking neon green eyes and unique sculptural growth pattern.

Under actinic lighting, the intense yellow fluorescence combines with glowing green eyes to create one of the most distinctive and eye-catching Pectinia morphs available. As the colony matures, it develops dramatic ridges and folds that further enhance its visual impact.

Care & Feeding

Pectinia corals are photosynthetic but benefit from occasional target feeding.

Recommended foods include:

  • Mysis shrimp
  • Finely chopped marine foods
  • Reef Roids or similar particulate coral foods

Feed occasionally after lights are reduced, when feeding tentacles are more likely to extend.

Optimal Parameters

Parameter Ideal Range
Alkalinity (dKH) 7.5–8.5
Calcium (Ca) 420–450 ppm
Magnesium (Mg) 1300–1400 ppm
Nitrate (NO₃) 5–15 ppm
Phosphate (POβ‚„) 0.03–0.10 ppm

Placement

Place the coral in a low to moderate light area with gentle, indirect water flow. Allow generous spacing from neighbouring corals, as Pectinia species can extend long, aggressive sweeper tentacles during the night.
