🧬 Overview
The Red People Eater is a classic and highly recognisable collector zoanthid, celebrated for its intense red pigmentation and distinctive fluorescent green mouth.
Its beautiful crimson-red to burgundy oral discs create a rich, dramatic appearance, while the bright green centre introduces a striking contrast that makes each polyp particularly attractive.
One of the defining characteristics of People Eater varieties is their prominent fluorescent green mouth, which stands out beautifully against the darker pigmentation of the oral disc.
Under blue-spectrum reef lighting, the green centre becomes especially eye-catching, while the surrounding red tones provide depth and intensity to the overall coloration.
Red People Eater polyps are also appreciated for their relatively large, fleshy appearance, creating an impressive display even in smaller colonies.
As the frag develops, individual polyps can gradually multiply and spread across the surrounding surface, forming an increasingly colourful colony with excellent visual presence.
This WYSIWYG frag has been individually selected for its attractive Red People Eater coloration, offering a classic collector variety for premium zoanthid gardens.

🍽️ Care & Feeding
Red People Eater zoanthids are photosynthetic colonial anthozoans that obtain much of their energy through their symbiotic dinoflagellates.
Although supplemental feeding is generally unnecessary, they may benefit from occasional exposure to fine particulate coral foods, small zooplankton, rotifers and appropriately sized meaty foods.
Their relatively large polyps may capture small food particles, although direct target feeding is not essential for healthy maintenance.
Provide gentle to moderate, variable water movement to support gas exchange, nutrient transport and the removal of accumulated detritus from between the polyps.
Avoid strong, concentrated flow that may prevent full polyp extension.
Stable water chemistry and measurable nitrate and phosphate concentrations are important for maintaining healthy tissue, vibrant pigmentation and consistent colony development.
Gradually acclimate the frag to its final lighting intensity, particularly when transferring it between aquariums with different PAR levels.
Handling Precaution: People Eater zoanthids and related Palythoa-type colonial anthozoans may contain palytoxin or other harmful compounds. Always wear protective gloves and eye protection when handling or fragging. Never boil, heat, steam or pressure-wash rocks containing zoanthids, and wash hands and equipment thoroughly after contact.

📍 Placement
Position the frag in the lower to middle sections of the reef, where it receives low to moderate lighting and gentle, multidirectional water movement.
Red People Eater polyps are particularly suitable for placement on dedicated zoanthid rocks, frag platforms or stable reef structures where they can gradually expand.
Allow sufficient space between neighbouring corals to prevent overcrowding and competition for available surfaces.
Under suitable conditions, the polyps can develop excellent extension, displaying their characteristic deep crimson-red oral discs and intensely fluorescent green mouths.
