Overview
The JF Yellow Submarine Favia is a renowned Jason Fox signature morph, celebrated for its vibrant golden polyps and luminous green mouths. Its distinct honeycomb texture and bold contrast make it an unmissable centrepiece, even in a tank full of colour.
This coral is hardy, adaptable, and a fantastic choice for both novice and experienced reefers. Its growth forms dense, encrusting colonies that add depth and texture to the aquascape.
Care & Feeding
While photosynthetic, this Favia benefits greatly from supplemental feeding — target feed with small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, or powdered coral foods once or twice a week.
Avoid placing too close to other corals as its sweeper tentacles can sting neighbouring colonies at night. Keep parameters stable for optimal colour retention and polyp extension.
Optimal Parameters
-
Alkalinity (dKH): 8–11
 -
Calcium (Ca): 420–460 ppm
 -
Magnesium (Mg): 1250–1350 ppm
 -
Nitrate (NO₃): 2–10 ppm
 -
Phosphate (PO₄): 0.01–0.05 ppm

Placement
Place on rockwork in lower to mid sections of the tank with moderate indirect flow. Ensure spacing from aggressive stingers and leave room for future colony expansion.
