🧬 Overview
The Euphyllia ancora “Banana Ultra Colour” is a premium Hammer coral selected for its exceptionally intense yellow to fluorescent yellow-green coloration.
Its characteristic fleshy, anchor-shaped polyps develop a powerful banana-yellow glow, particularly under blue spectrum lighting, where the fluorescent pigments become considerably more pronounced.
Unlike more conventional green Hammer corals, this Ultra Colour selection was chosen specifically for its brighter and more unusual yellow-dominant appearance. When fully expanded, the combination of intense fluorescence, thick fleshy polyps and gentle movement makes it an immediate focal point within an LPS collection.
A particularly attractive choice for collectors looking to introduce strong yellow fluorescence into a reef dominated by greens, blues and oranges.
🧾 WYSIWYG
You will receive the exact specimen shown, individually selected for its exceptional coloration, fluorescence and overall appearance.
Selected for:
• Intense banana-yellow coloration
• Ultra fluorescent yellow/green tones
• Exceptional glow under actinic lighting
• Classic fleshy Hammer polyp structure
• Strong and unusual yellow presence
• Beautiful polyp expansion and movement
• Premium Ultra Colour selection
• High-impact collector LPS
🍽️ Care & Feeding
Hammer corals obtain much of their energy through photosynthesis but benefit from occasional supplemental feeding.
Recommended feeding occasionally:
• Mysis shrimp or small meaty foods
• LPS pellets
• Target feeding to support growth and tissue health
📈 Optimal Parameters
Parameter | Ideal Range
Alkalinity (dKH) | 7.5–8.5
Calcium (Ca) | 420–450 ppm
Magnesium (Mg) | 1300–1400 ppm
Nitrate (NO₃) | 5–15 ppm
Phosphate (PO₄) | 0.03–0.10 ppm
📍 Placement
Best placed in the low to middle areas of the reef with gentle, indirect water movement. Flow should allow the fleshy polyps to sway naturally without being continuously compressed or pushed strongly in one direction.
Provide adequate space from neighbouring corals to accommodate full expansion and potential sweeper tentacles.
