🧬 Overview
The Miyagi Tort is a classic collector Acropora appreciated for its unmistakable combination of green tissue and rich blue-to-purple coloration.

As it matures, it develops an elegant upright branching structure with slightly irregular, twisting branches characteristic of the “Tort” growth style. Mature colonies can become particularly impressive, combining strong vertical growth with intense contrasting coloration.

Under blue-heavy reef lighting, the cooler blue and violet pigments become particularly vivid while the green areas develop strong fluorescence. Under a more balanced spectrum, additional teal, emerald and purple shades can become visible.

🍽️ Care & Feeding
Miyagi Tort performs best in an established SPS aquarium with stable alkalinity, strong lighting and powerful multidirectional flow. It is primarily photosynthetic, although amino acids and fine particulate SPS foods may be offered as supplemental nutrition.

Maintaining stable, measurable nitrate and phosphate is preferable to aggressively stripping nutrients from the system.

📈 Optimal Parameters

Parameter Ideal Range
Alkalinity (dKH) 7.5–8.5
Calcium (Ca) 420–450 ppm
Magnesium (Mg) 1300–1400 ppm
Nitrate (NO₃) 2–10 ppm
Phosphate (PO₄) 0.02–0.08 ppm

📍 Placement
Place in the middle to upper areas of the reef, ideally around 250–400 PAR once acclimated, with strong, irregular and multidirectional water movement. Gradual light acclimation is recommended when introducing new frags.
