Bright Green Humilis Acropora – Individual Collector Frag

🔹 Quick Stats
Care Level: Advanced
Temperament: Generally peaceful, but requires space for growth
Colour Form: Rich emerald to fluorescent green tissue covering the characteristic thick branches of Acropora humilis, with lighter lime-green tones often developing around active growth areas. Under actinic lighting, the green becomes particularly vivid and fluorescent.
Size: Frag
Water Conditions: 24–26 °C, dKH 7.5–8.5, pH 8.0–8.4, sg 1.024–1.026
Family: Acroporidae
Lighting: High (PAR 250–400)
Water Flow: Strong, random and turbulent
Placement: Mid-High to Upper Reef
Type: WYSIWYG – Exact Frag Shown

🧬 Overview
The Green Acropora humilis is a classic high-energy SPS with a very distinctive growth structure. Unlike finer branching Acropora, A. humilis develops short, thick and robust branches, eventually producing a dense, compact colony with considerable visual presence.

This specimen was selected for its strong green pigmentation, combining deeper emerald-green tissue with brighter fluorescent tones under blue-spectrum lighting. As it establishes and begins active growth, the tips can develop lighter green shades that further emphasize its heavy branching structure.

Its combination of intense colour and chunky growth makes it particularly attractive when contrasted with pink, red, orange or blue Acropora in an SPS-dominated reef.

🧾 WYSIWYG – Individual Frag
You will receive the exact Green Acropora humilis frag shown in the photograph.

Selected for:
• Strong emerald-green coloration
• Fluorescent green appearance under blues
• Thick, compact A. humilis growth structure
• Healthy tissue coverage
• Strong SPS architectural form
• Excellent grow-out potential

🍽️ Care & Feeding
Acropora humilis is adapted to high-energy reef environments and performs best with strong lighting and powerful turbulent water movement. Flow should reach around and between the branches rather than constantly blasting the coral from a single direction.

It is primarily photosynthetic, although fine SPS foods, plankton and amino acids may be offered as supplemental nutrition. Stable alkalinity and measurable nitrate and phosphate are particularly important for maintaining healthy tissue, growth and coloration.

📈 Optimal Parameters

Parameter Ideal Range
Alkalinity (dKH) 7.5–8.5
Calcium (Ca) 420–450 ppm
Magnesium (Mg) 1300–1400 ppm
Nitrate (NO₃) 5–15 ppm
Phosphate (PO₄) 0.03–0.10 ppm

📍 Placement
Best positioned in the upper half of a mature reef aquarium, where it can receive high light and strong, irregular flow. Gradually acclimate the frag when moving it into higher PAR, particularly after transport.
