🧬 Overview
The Acropora “PC Rainbow” is one of the most iconic and recognisable rainbow SPS corals in the reef hobby. Originally popularised by Pieces of the Ocean and later becoming a staple among collector SPS systems worldwide, this coral is celebrated for its reliable rainbow coloration, strong growth and exceptional adaptability.
Its signature appearance combines metallic green branch bodies with vivid red polyps and bright contrasting yellow growth tips, creating a classic “rainbow Acropora” aesthetic that remains highly sought after even among modern collector tenuis varieties.
Under blue-spectrum reef lighting, the fluorescence becomes extremely vibrant, while daylight-balanced systems reveal additional metallic and pastel nuances across the colony. As the coral matures, it develops elegant branching growth with excellent polyp extension and strong colour stability under proper reef conditions.
Compared to many ultra-sensitive collector Acropora, PC Rainbow is often appreciated for being relatively hardy while still delivering premium SPS coloration and visual impact.
