Overview
The Molten Ember Hammer Coral smolders with primal energy—its rich brown tentacles igniting into glowing orange at the tips, like lava cooling into stone. A bold take on Euphyllia ancora, this variety brings intense warmth and texture to your aquascape, flowing like a living flame under reef lighting.
Sourced from the reefs of Southeast Asia, the Molten Ember is a captivating addition to LPS or mixed reefs, blending earthy tones with flickers of firelight. Its movement adds a dynamic element, while its unique coloration draws the eye and complements both dark and brightly lit scapes.
Care & Feeding
This coral thrives in stable conditions with moderate, indirect flow and consistent lighting. While photosynthetic, occasional feedings of reef roids, microplankton, or finely chopped meaty foods can promote better growth and more intense coloration. As with all Euphyllia, feeding also encourages fuller tissue expansion.
Optimal Parameters
-
Alkalinity (dKH): 8-11
-
Calcium (Ca): 420-460 ppm
-
Magnesium (Mg): 1250-1350 ppm
-
Nitrate (NO3): 2-10 ppm

Phosphate (PO4): 0.01-0.05 ppm
Placement
Position the Molten Ember Hammer in a bottom to mid-level spot where it receives moderate light and indirect flow. Avoid placing it too close to other corals—its sweeper tentacles can reach out and sting overnight. With space to grow, it develops a full, dramatic form that adds visual heat and kinetic energy to the reef.
