Red Sea REEFER Skimmer 300
The Red Sea REEFER Skimmer 300 is the entry-level protein skimmer in the REEFER range, designed for reef aquariums up to 300 liters (heavy SPS) or 600 liters (mixed reef). [1]
- High Performance: Equipped with a Sicce PSK-600 needle-wheel pump and an oversized venturi for an optimal air-water mixture.
- Ozone-Like Clarity: Maintains an exceptional ORP (REDOX) level above 350 mV, achieving crystal-clear water without the use of ozone. [1]
Red Sea REEFER Skimmer 600
The Red Sea REEFER Skimmer 600 is the mid-sized protein skimmer in the REEFER range, designed for reef aquariums up to 600 liters (heavy SPS) or 1,200 liters (mixed reef). [1]
- High Performance: Equipped with a powerful Sicce PSK-1000 needle-wheel pump and an oversized venturi for high-volume air injection.
- Ozone-Like Clarity: Maintains an exceptional ORP (REDOX) level above 350 mV, achieving crystal-clear water without the use of ozone. [1, 2]
Red Sea REEFER Skimmer 900
The Red Sea REEFER Skimmer 900 is the heavy-duty protein skimmer in the REEFER range, designed for large reef aquariums up to 900 liters (heavy SPS) or 1,800 liters (mixed reef).
- High Performance: Equipped with a high-capacity Sicce PSK needle-wheel pump optimized to handle massive water and air circulation volumes.
- Ozone-Like Clarity: Maintains an exceptional ORP (REDOX) level above 350 mV, achieving crystal-clear water without the use of ozone.
| Feature | AC Pump | DC Pump |
|---|---|---|
| Speed Control | Fixed (100%). Skimmer adjustments are made 100% manually by turning the water valve. | Variable (0-100%). You can electronically adjust the flow rate directly through the mobile app. |
| Noise & Vibration | Louder. Alternating current causes micro-vibrations that can resonate inside the cabinet. | Ultra-Quiet. Direct current motors run much smoother, virtually eliminating electric hum. |
| Smart Features | None. If the skimmer overflows or runs dry, it keeps running at full speed. | Self-Leveling. Includes sensors that automatically reduce flow if an overflow is detected, sending alerts to your phone. |
| Feed Mode | Requires manually unplugging the unit or using an external smart plug. | Can be paused with a single tap in the ReefBeat App during coral or fish feeding. |
| Energy Efficiency | High and constant power consumption regardless of your actual filtration needs. | Highly Efficient. Consumes less power and only draws the wattage required for the set speed. |
