🔴🤍🔵🧡 Chalice “Liberty Ember” – Mastergrade
Chalice Coral – Blood Red, Ice White & Electric Blue Core with Molten Orange Flame Borders (WYSIWYG Specimen)
🔹 Quick Stats
Care Level: Easy to Moderate
Temperament: Semi-aggressive (sweeper tentacles at night)
Colour Form: The “Liberty Ember” Mastergrade displays a powerful tricolour core of deep blood red, ice white and electric blue, framed by blazing molten orange borders. Under actinic lighting, the blue ignites into neon, the white glows clean and sharp, and the orange rim burns like liquid lava. Under white light, the red deepens into rich crimson while the orange border develops a hot ember glow, giving extreme contrast and depth.
Water Conditions: 24–26 °C, dKH 7.5–9, pH 8.0–8.4, sg 1.024–1.026
Family: Pectiniidae (Chalice group)
Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 50–120)
Water Flow: Low to Moderate, indirect
Placement: Lower rockwork or sandbed
🧬 Overview
The Chalice “Liberty Ember” – Mastergrade is a top-tier collector specimen defined by its razor-sharp colour separation and explosive border contrast. This is not soft blending — this is hard colour zoning, where each tone holds its territory with authority.
The central field alternates between blood red, ice white and electric blue in streaks and islands, while the outer rim erupts in glowing orange fire. As the chalice grows, the orange border thickens, creating a flame halo effect that frames the entire piece.
Each WYSIWYG specimen is hand-selected for:
• Clean red / white / blue colour separation
• True electric blue (not teal) expression
• Bright ice-white zones with no yellowing
• Intense molten orange border definition
• Thick, healthy tissue with strong edge growth
• Clear, well-defined eyes
• Proven long-term colour stability
A chalice built for display tanks, show reefs and serious collectors.
🍽️ Care & Feeding
Chalices respond extremely well to feeding and will reward you with faster rim growth and thicker tissue.
Feed 1–2× weekly with:
• Finely chopped mysis, krill or prawn
• LPS pellets or coral blends
• Reef roids or powdered plankton
• Target-feed at night when feeder tentacles extend
📈 Optimal Parameters
| Parameter | Ideal Range |
|---|---|
| Alkalinity (dKH) | 7.5–9 |
| Calcium (Ca) | 420–450 ppm |
| Magnesium (Mg) | 1300–1400 ppm |
| Nitrate (NO₃) | 5–15 ppm |
| Phosphate (PO₄) | 0.03–0.10 ppm |
📍 Placement
Place on sandbed or lower rockwork to avoid light stress.
Ensure gentle, indirect flow to keep tissue clean without tearing.
Allow 5–8 cm clearance — chalices can deploy sweepers at night.
