💀🟡 Caulastrea sp. “Toxic Trumpet”
Neon Toxic Yellow Caulastrea – 2–3 Heads (Similar to Photos)

🔹 Quick Stats
Care Level: Easy to Moderate
Temperament: Peaceful (generally reef safe with most corals)
Colour Form: The Toxic Trumpet Caulastrea displays intensely fluorescent toxic-yellow polyps with bright glowing centres. Under actinic lighting the coral radiates powerful neon-yellow fluorescence, creating a vivid glow that stands out strongly in reef aquariums. Under balanced white lighting the colony reveals rich tones of lemon-yellow, chartreuse and electric yellow that highlight the coral’s fleshy trumpet-shaped heads.
Water Conditions: 24–26 °C, dKH 7.5–9, pH 8.0–8.4, sg 1.024–1.026
Family: Merulinidae
Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 60–120)
Water Flow: Low to Moderate, indirect flow
Placement: Lower to mid rockwork
Type: 2–3 Heads – Similar to Photos

🧬 Overview
The Caulastrea “Toxic Trumpet” is a vibrant LPS coral known for its bright neon-yellow coloration and classic trumpet-shaped polyps. Caulastrea corals are popular among reef aquarists due to their hardy nature, strong fluorescence and attractive clustered growth form.

Each head forms a fleshy polyp that expands during the day, creating a bright glowing colony that adds movement and colour to the reef. As the coral grows, new heads develop from the skeleton, gradually forming larger clusters of glowing trumpet polyps.

This variety is especially striking under blue-spectrum reef lighting where the toxic yellow fluorescence becomes extremely vivid.

Similar to Photos:
You will receive a healthy frag with approximately 2–3 heads, similar in colour and size to the reference photos. Natural variation between individual pieces is normal.

Selected for:
• Intense toxic-yellow fluorescence
• Fully formed trumpet heads
• Healthy inflated tissue
• Strong skeleton and growth potential
• Excellent colour response under reef LED lighting

🍽️ Care & Feeding
Caulastrea corals benefit from occasional feeding which can encourage faster growth and head division.

Recommended feeding 1–2× weekly:
• Mysis shrimp or finely chopped seafood
• Reef roids or LPS pellets
• Target feeding with reduced flow

📈 Optimal Parameters

Parameter | Ideal Range
Alkalinity (dKH) | 7.5–9
Calcium (Ca) | 420–450 ppm
Magnesium (Mg) | 1300–1400 ppm
Nitrate (NO₃) | 5–20 ppm
Phosphate (PO₄) | 0.03–0.10 ppm

📍 Placement
Place in the lower to mid areas of the aquascape where moderate lighting and gentle flow allow the fleshy polyps to expand comfortably.

Allow space around the colony for future head growth.
