☢️🟡 Acropora sp. “Toxic Reactor”
WYSIWYG Specimen – Neon Toxic Yellow Acropora with Large Coralites
🔹 Quick Stats
Care Level: Advanced
Temperament: Peaceful (requires spacing from neighbouring SPS colonies)
Colour Form: The Toxic Reactor Acropora displays an intense neon-yellow base coloration across thick branches with pronounced large coralites that give the surface a bold textured appearance. Under actinic lighting the coral glows with radioactive yellow fluorescence, creating an almost electric glow across the colony. Under balanced white lighting the coral reveals vivid tones of lemon-yellow, chartreuse and bright toxic-yellow highlights that emphasize the coral’s powerful skeletal structure.
Water Conditions: 24–26 °C, dKH 7.5–8.5, pH 8.0–8.4, sg 1.024–1.026
Family: Acroporidae
Lighting: High (PAR 250–350)
Water Flow: Strong and turbulent
Placement: Upper rockwork or high-energy reef zones
Type: WYSIWYG
🧬 Overview
The Acropora “Toxic Reactor” is a visually aggressive SPS coral known for its extreme neon-yellow coloration and large coralite structure. The pronounced coralites give the branches a rugged texture, making the coral appear almost armored while still maintaining strong polyp extension.
Its intense toxic-yellow pigmentation creates a powerful highlight within SPS aquascapes, especially when placed among darker corals such as blues, purples and reds. Under strong reef lighting the yellow becomes almost radioactive, producing a bright glow that draws immediate attention.
As the colony grows, the thick branches develop pronounced growth tips and strong structure, giving the coral a bold architectural presence within the reef.
WYSIWYG:
You will receive the exact coral shown in the photo. Each specimen is individually photographed and selected for colour intensity, coralite structure and overall coral health.
Selected for:
• Extreme neon toxic-yellow coloration
• Large coralite skeletal structure
• Healthy tissue and active growth tips
• Strong branching SPS architecture
• Proven colour response under reef LED lighting
🍽️ Care & Feeding
Like most Acropora, Toxic Reactor relies mainly on photosynthesis but benefits from nutrient-balanced reef environments and occasional coral feeding.
Recommended feeding 1–2× weekly:
• Fine plankton blends or powdered coral foods
• Amino acid supplements for SPS systems
• Broadcast feeding in mature reef systems
📈 Optimal Parameters
Parameter | Ideal Range
Alkalinity (dKH) | 7.5–8.5
Calcium (Ca) | 420–450 ppm
Magnesium (Mg) | 1300–1400 ppm
Nitrate (NO₃) | 5–15 ppm
Phosphate (PO₄) | 0.03–0.10 ppm
📍 Placement
Place in the upper aquascape where strong lighting and turbulent water flow are present. Stable parameters help maintain the coral’s extreme yellow pigmentation and support healthy skeletal growth.
Allow adequate spacing from neighbouring SPS colonies to encourage natural branch expansion.
