🧬 Overview
The Acropora “Slime Green” is a legendary classic SPS coral known for its explosive fluorescent green coloration, rapid growth and strong hardiness. Often considered one of the brightest green Acropora varieties in the hobby, this coral glows intensely under blue-spectrum reef lighting and remains highly vibrant even under daylight-balanced systems.
Its fast-growing branching structure and thick healthy tissue make it an excellent choice for both experienced SPS collectors and reef keepers transitioning into more demanding Acropora systems. As the colony matures, it forms dense branching growth with vivid fluorescent coloration and strong daytime polyp extension.
The “Slime Green” nickname comes from the coral’s thick mucus production and extremely vibrant glowing green appearance, which together make it one of the most recognisable classic SPS corals in reef keeping.
