🧬 Overview
The Verdant Alloy Goni is a showstopping metallic morph of Goniopora sp., renowned for its rare two-tone green appearance that shifts with lighting angles. Its smooth, flowing polyp extension gives it an almost liquid-metal look, making it a dynamic centrepiece in any LPS collection.
Favoured by seasoned aquarists, this morph brings both kinetic movement and iridescent colour to reefscapes — a must-have for collectors seeking something truly unique.
🍽️ Care & Feeding
Like all Gonioporas, this coral thrives best with supplemental feeding. While photosynthetic, it benefits significantly from 2–3 weekly target feedings using phytoplankton, rotifers, reef roids, or amino-rich coral blends.
Provide a stable environment with gentle but random flow to promote extension without damaging the delicate tissue. Avoid shadowing and overly aggressive neighbours.
📈 Optimal Parameters
-
Alkalinity (dKH): 8–11
-
Calcium (Ca): 420–460 ppm
-
Magnesium (Mg): 1250–1350 ppm
-
Nitrate (NO₃): 5–15 ppm
-
Phosphate (PO₄): 0.03–0.08 ppm
📍 Placement
Ideal for mid to lower reef zones with moderate PAR lighting. Ensure adequate space for expansion, as its tentacles can reach out and irritate nearby corals. Best viewed under actinic or full-spectrum lighting to highlight the metallic gradients.
