🧬 Overview
The Euphyllia glabrescens “Tiger Knicks Yellow Core” is an outstanding collector Torch displaying an unusual combination of metallic bronze tentacles, electric blue tips and an intensely fluorescent yellow centre.
The bronze coloration gives the tentacles a deep metallic appearance, particularly when viewed under a mixed spectrum. Moving towards the ends of each tentacle, the coloration transitions dramatically into bright blue tips, producing a very strong warm-versus-cool contrast.
But the feature that really separates this specimen is its fluorescent yellow core. Under blue/actinic lighting, the centre appears almost illuminated from within, surrounded by the darker bronze tentacles and electric-blue terminal tips.
This bronze/copper and blue-tip combination is particularly reminiscent of the Tiger Knicks / Knicks group of collector Torches, which are known in the hobby for their bright blue tips and metallic copper-gold coloration.
The result is a Torch with three clearly contrasting colour zones — blue, bronze and fluorescent yellow — that becomes even more impressive once the tentacles are fully extended and moving in the current.
🧾 WYSIWYG
You will receive the exact specimen shown, individually selected for its exceptional colour combination and fluorescence.
Selected for:
• Intense electric-blue tips
• Metallic bronze / copper tentacles
• Exceptional fluorescent yellow core
• Three-colour contrast
• Strong fluorescence under actinic lighting
• Beautiful long-tentacle extension
• Premium collector Torch coloration
• Exceptional movement and visual impact
🍽️ Care & Feeding
This Torch obtains most of its energy through photosynthesis but benefits from occasional supplemental feeding.
Recommended occasionally:
• Mysis shrimp or finely chopped meaty foods
• Quality LPS pellets
• Small particulate coral foods
Stable alkalinity, calcium and nutrient levels are particularly important for maintaining healthy tissue, growth and strong coloration.
📈 Optimal Parameters
| Parameter | Ideal Range |
|---|---|
| Alkalinity (dKH) | 7.5–8.5 |
| Calcium (Ca) | 420–450 ppm |
| Magnesium (Mg) | 1300–1400 ppm |
| Nitrate (NO₃) | 5–15 ppm |
| Phosphate (PO₄) | 0.03–0.10 ppm |
📍 Placement
Place in the middle section of the reef with moderate, indirect and variable flow. The tentacles should continuously sway without being violently pushed to one side.
