🧬 Overview
The Golden Ember Blue Tip Euphyllia Torch is an exceptional LPS selection, combining the warmth of brilliant orange-gold pigmentation with the striking contrast of delicate blue tentacle tips.
Its characteristic long, flowing tentacles display rich golden-yellow and fiery orange tones, creating a beautiful metallic appearance reminiscent of glowing embers.
The distinctive blue to icy-blue tips provide an elegant contrast against the warmer tentacle pigmentation, adding depth, definition and an unusual multicoloured character to the coral.
Under blue-spectrum reef lighting, the golden areas can develop particularly attractive fluorescence, while the cooler blue tips create a striking visual contrast that enhances the coral's overall appearance.
One of the most captivating characteristics of Euphyllia glabrescens is its long, graceful tentacle extension, which creates continuous, flowing movement within the aquarium.
As the tentacles sway naturally with the current, the combination of orange, gold and blue produces a dynamic display of colour and movement, making this Torch Coral an impressive focal point within a premium LPS collection.
Unlike more conventional green or purple Torch varieties, this selection offers a sophisticated combination of warm metallic pigmentation and contrasting cool-coloured tips, giving it a distinctive visual identity.
This WYSIWYG specimen has been individually selected for its exceptional orange-gold coloration, contrasting blue tips and attractive overall appearance.

🍽️ Care & Feeding
Euphyllia glabrescens is a photosynthetic LPS coral that obtains much of its energy through its symbiotic dinoflagellates. However, it can benefit from occasional supplemental feeding with small meaty foods, finely chopped mysis shrimp, enriched Artemia and appropriately sized coral preparations.
Target feeding once or twice per week may support tissue development and skeletal growth, although it is not essential when the coral receives adequate lighting and nutrients.
Provide moderate, indirect and variable water movement that allows the long tentacles to sway naturally without being continuously pushed in one direction.
Avoid strong, concentrated flow, which may cause excessive tissue movement, prevent full polyp extension or damage the delicate tissue against the skeleton.
Stable alkalinity, calcium and magnesium concentrations are particularly important for healthy skeletal development and long-term coral vitality.
Maintaining measurable nitrate and phosphate concentrations helps support tissue health, pigmentation and consistent polyp extension.
For the best development of its orange-gold coloration and contrasting blue tips, provide balanced reef lighting and avoid sudden changes in intensity or spectral composition.
Gradually acclimate the coral to its final lighting intensity, particularly when transferring it between aquariums with different PAR levels.
📈 Optimal Parameters
| Parameter | Ideal Range |
|---|---|
| Alkalinity (dKH) | 7.5–8.5 |
| Calcium (Ca) | 420–450 ppm |
| Magnesium (Mg) | 1300–1400 ppm |
| Nitrate (NO₃) | 5–15 ppm |
| Phosphate (PO₄) | 0.03–0.10 ppm |
📍 Placement
Position the coral in the lower to middle sections of the reef, where it receives low to moderate lighting and gentle to moderate, multidirectional water movement.
Euphyllia glabrescens develops long, extended tentacles that require sufficient space to move freely without contacting neighbouring corals.
As an aggressive LPS species, Torch Corals possess stinging tentacles capable of damaging nearby corals. Maintain a generous clearance around the specimen, allowing for full extension and potential sweeper tentacles.
Avoid positioning the coral directly in front of strong circulation pumps or where its tissue may repeatedly rub against surrounding rockwork.
Under suitable conditions, the coral can develop impressive polyp extension, displaying its characteristic flowing orange-gold tentacles and contrasting electric blue tips in a spectacular combination of colour and movement.
