🧬 Overview
The “Iron Man” Discosoma is a highly attractive colour morph selected for its intense combination of warm red/orange coloration and contrasting yellow-gold tones.
Under blue and actinic lighting, its colours become considerably more pronounced, creating the fiery red-and-gold appearance behind the Iron Man name.
Discosoma are among the hardiest and easiest corallimorphs to maintain, preferring relatively low light and gentle water movement. They can also reproduce readily once established, making this an excellent choice for both newer reef keepers and collectors looking for unusual colour morphs.

Because each piece is individually propagated, size, shape and colour distribution will naturally vary slightly between frags. Freshly cut Discosoma may initially appear smaller or less expanded and will regain their characteristic rounded shape as they heal and establish. Discosoma are particularly well suited to propagation and regenerate readily after fragmentation.

🍽️ Care & Feeding
Discosoma obtain most of their energy through photosynthesis and generally do not require direct feeding. Occasional fine particulate or small meaty foods may be offered, but feeding is optional.

📍 Placement
Best placed in the lower areas of the reef with low, gentle and indirect flow. Avoid exposing freshly cut specimens to intense lighting or strong direct current while they establish. Excessive flow can prevent full expansion and may cause Discosoma to detach from the substrate.
