💙🪸 Acropora tenuis “Blue Phantom”
WYSIWYG Frag – Electric Blue Tenuis Acropora
🔹 Quick Stats
Care Level: Advanced
Temperament: Peaceful (requires spacing from neighbouring SPS colonies)
Colour Form: The Blue Phantom Tenuis displays intense electric-blue tones across its branches with lighter icy-blue growth tips. Under actinic lighting the coral glows with deep sapphire fluorescence while the polyps create a textured shimmering surface across the frag. Under balanced white lighting the coral reveals gradients of cobalt blue, ocean blue and frosted sky-blue tips, producing a clean and elegant monochromatic colour profile highly prized among SPS collectors.
Water Conditions: 24–26 °C, dKH 7.5–8.5, pH 8.0–8.4, sg 1.024–1.026
Family: Acroporidae
Lighting: High (PAR 250–350)
Water Flow: Strong, random and turbulent
Placement: Upper rockwork
Type: WYSIWYG Frag
🧬 Overview
The Acropora tenuis “Blue Phantom” is a striking SPS coral featuring the classic tenuis branching structure combined with powerful blue pigmentation. Pure blue Acropora are relatively uncommon, making this coral particularly desirable for reef keepers looking to add cool-spectrum colour to their SPS collections.
As the coral grows, the branches develop tighter clusters while the tips maintain lighter icy-blue highlights that accentuate new growth. Under strong reef lighting the coral develops an almost glowing sapphire appearance that contrasts beautifully with warmer coloured Acropora such as reds, yellows and pinks.
Even as a frag, this coral already shows excellent colour saturation and strong growth potential.
WYSIWYG:
You will receive the exact frag shown in the photo. Each specimen is individually photographed and selected for colour intensity, structure and coral health.
Selected for:
• Deep sapphire-blue coloration
• Bright icy-blue growth tips
• Strong Acropora tenuis branching structure
• Healthy tissue and active polyp extension
• Excellent colour response under reef LED lighting
🍽️ Care & Feeding
Like most Acropora tenuis, Blue Phantom thrives in nutrient-balanced SPS systems and benefits from occasional feeding.
Recommended feeding 1–2× weekly:
• Amino acids
• Fine planktonic coral foods
• SPS blends / reef snow
• Broadcast feeding in mature reef systems
📈 Optimal Parameters
Parameter | Ideal Range
Alkalinity (dKH) | 7.5–8.5
Calcium (Ca) | 420–450 ppm
Magnesium (Mg) | 1300–1400 ppm
Nitrate (NO₃) | 5–15 ppm
Phosphate (PO₄) | 0.03–0.10 ppm
📍 Placement
Place in high light and strong chaotic flow to maintain vibrant blue coloration and encourage tight branch development.
Allow adequate spacing from neighbouring SPS colonies to avoid shading and allow natural growth.
