Overview
The Rainbow Heart Symphyllia is a rare Indonesian gem in miniature form, prized for its kaleidoscopic colouration and compact size — perfect for nano tanks or feature spots in larger reefs. Each coral displays unique swirls and bands of intense hues, creating the effect of a glowing heart nestled in your reefscape.
Though slower-growing, it becomes a standout centrepiece due to its surreal pigmentation and fleshy, undulating ridges.
Care & Feeding
Photosynthetic but thrives with weekly spot-feeding of meaty foods like mysis, krill, or coral-specific blends. Stable water chemistry and indirect flow are essential to avoid recession or polyp stress.
Optimal Parameters
-
Alkalinity (dKH): 8–11
-
Calcium (Ca): 420–460 ppm
-
Magnesium (Mg): 1250–1350 ppm
-
Nitrate (NO₃): 2–10 ppm
-
Phosphate (PO₄): 0.01–0.05 ppm
Placement
Best placed on the sandbed or in low rock areas with soft, indirect current. Keep distance from aggressive neighbours, as it may extend sweeper tentacles at night.
