🧬 Overview
The Gorilla Nipples & Red People Eater Mixed Zoanthus Frag brings together two highly recognisable collector varieties in one beautiful WYSIWYG selection, combining vibrant coloration, contrasting polyp structures and distinctive patterns.
The popular Gorilla Nipples Zoanthus is appreciated for its colourful oral discs, typically displaying beautiful pink to reddish-pink centres surrounded by contrasting green or yellow-green pigmentation. Its darker skirts provide additional definition, creating a striking flower-like appearance when the polyps are fully extended.
Alongside it, the Red People Eater introduces a deeper and more dramatic colour combination, featuring rich crimson-red to burgundy oral discs and the characteristic bright fluorescent green mouth associated with People Eater varieties.
Together, these two morphs create a remarkable contrast between the brighter, multicoloured pigmentation of Gorilla Nipples and the intense ruby-red coloration of Red People Eater.
Under blue-spectrum reef lighting, the green areas may develop particularly attractive fluorescence, while the pink and red pigmentation provides warmth and depth to the overall display.
The differences in polyp size, structure and colour distribution add further visual interest, creating the appearance of a miniature collector Zoanthus garden within a single frag.
As the frag develops, individual polyps can gradually multiply and spread across the available surface, forming an increasingly colourful mixed colony.
This WYSIWYG mixed frag offers the opportunity to acquire both collector morphs together, individually selected for their complementary coloration and distinctive visual appeal.

🍽️ Care & Feeding
Gorilla Nipples Zoanthus and Red People Eater polyps are photosynthetic colonial anthozoans that obtain much of their energy through their symbiotic dinoflagellates.
Although supplemental feeding is generally unnecessary, they may benefit from occasional exposure to fine particulate coral foods, rotifers, small zooplankton and suspended organic particles.
The larger Red People Eater polyps may also capture appropriately sized meaty foods, although direct feeding is not essential for healthy maintenance.
Provide gentle to moderate, variable water movement to support gas exchange, nutrient delivery and the removal of accumulated detritus from between the polyps.
Avoid strong, concentrated flow that may prevent full polyp extension.
Stable water chemistry and measurable nitrate and phosphate concentrations are important for maintaining healthy tissue, vibrant pigmentation and consistent colony development.
As both varieties grow, monitor their expansion, as differences in growth rates may cause one morph to gradually occupy more space than the other.
Handling Precaution: Some Zoanthus and Palythoa-type colonial anthozoans may contain palytoxin or other harmful compounds. Always wear protective gloves and eye protection when handling or fragging these corals. Never boil, heat, steam or pressure-wash rocks containing Zoanthids, and wash hands and equipment thoroughly after contact.

📍 Placement
Position the frag in the lower to middle sections of the reef, where it receives low to moderate lighting and gentle, multidirectional water movement.
A dedicated Zoanthus garden or isolated rock is particularly suitable, allowing both varieties to expand while maintaining control over their growth.
Leave sufficient space between the frag and neighbouring corals to prevent overcrowding and competition for available surfaces.
For maximum visual impact, position the colony where the bright pink and green pigmentation of Gorilla Nipples contrasts with the deep crimson-red tones of Red People Eater.
Under suitable conditions, both morphs can gradually develop into an impressive mixed colony, creating a beautiful display of fluorescence, colour diversity and contrasting polyp structures.
