Overview

The Imperial Halo Acantophyllia is a luxurious, large polyp stony (LPS) coral celebrated for its regal coloration and fleshy, undulating form. A cultured gem, this piece features a rich red border that glows with intensity, elegantly surrounding a cool baby blue central mouth — a contrast reminiscent of royal insignia or celestial halos.

Ideal for display tanks and collectors seeking an unusual, high-color Acantophyllia with both boldness and grace, it adds instant prestige to the aquascape.

Care & Feeding

Acantophyllia corals appreciate stability and gentle conditions. Moderate lighting and low-to-moderate indirect flow allow full polyp expansion. Feed occasionally with mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood, or reef-specific coral blends to boost growth and intensify coloration.

As a semi-aggressive coral, give at least 3–4 inches of clearance to avoid nighttime sweeper tentacle contact with neighbors.

Optimal Parameters

  • Alkalinity (dKH): 8–11

  • Calcium (Ca): 420–460 ppm

  • Magnesium (Mg): 1300–1400 ppm

  • Nitrate (NO₃): 2–10 ppm

  • Phosphate (PO₄): 0.01–0.05 ppm

Placement

Best placed at the bottom to mid-level of the tank on stable sand or rock. Ensure enough space around the coral for expansion and safe distance from high-flow zones. Its weight and fleshy form benefit from a secure, padded surface.
