Overview
Caulerpa oligophylla is a compact, creeping green macroalgae valued for both its aesthetic appeal and strong nutrient-export capacity. With its flattened, Y-shaped branches and rounded lobes, it forms a dense, vibrant green mat that spreads along the substrate, making it ideal for marine aquascaping.
Although uncommon in the aquarium trade, this species adapts very well to established reef systems. It thrives under strong lighting and moderate flow, efficiently absorbing excess nitrates and phosphates while adding natural contrast to live rock, corals, and macroalgae displays. Easy to maintain and visually striking, Caulerpa oligophylla is an excellent choice for aquarists seeking a functional yet decorative macroalgae.
