💛☣️🫧 Plerogyra sinuosa “Toxic Blotch” – Mastergrade
Bubble Coral – Blotchy Neon Yellow High-Fluorescence Morph (WYSIWYG Specimen)
🔹 Quick Stats
Care Level: Easy to Moderate
Temperament: Semi-aggressive (sweeper tentacles at night)
Colour Form: The “Toxic Blotch” Mastergrade displays an explosive, irregular blotchy pattern of radioactive neon yellow over a lighter lemon base. Under actinic lighting, the yellow turns nuclear with extreme fluorescence, while under white light the coral reveals creamy vanilla zones contrasted by hot toxic-yellow splashes — a true high-definition, marbled effect.
Water Conditions: 24–26 °C, dKH 7.5–9, pH 8.0–8.4, sg 1.024–1.026
Family: Plerogyridae
Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 60–120)
Water Flow: Low and gentle, indirect
Placement: Sandbed or lower rockwork
🧬 Overview
The Plerogyra “Toxic Blotch” – Mastergrade is an elite-tier bubble coral defined by its wild, chaotic blotchy pigmentation and extreme neon output. This is not uniform yellow — this is organic splatter patterning, where hot toxic zones burst through softer lemon fields, giving it a raw, almost graffiti-like aesthetic.
Each vesicle shows layered colour density, with brighter “burn spots” of neon yellow embedded in the tissue. As the bubbles inflate and move, the blotches shift in the light, creating a living, dynamic pattern that changes throughout the day.
Each WYSIWYG specimen is hand-selected for:
• True toxic yellow fluorescence (not pastel)
• Strong, irregular blotchy pattern distribution
• Full, high-inflation bubble structure
• Thick, glossy vesicle walls
• Clean tissue margins and healthy attachment
• Proven colour stability and recovery strength
A mastergrade bubble coral reserved for serious collectors and high-end display reefs.
🍽️ Care & Feeding
Plerogyra responds extremely well to feeding and will reward you with thicker vesicles and stronger colour output.
Feed 1–2× weekly with:
• Finely chopped mysis, krill or prawn
• LPS pellets or coral blends
• Reef roids or powdered plankton
• Target-feed gently with flow off
📈 Optimal Parameters
| Parameter | Ideal Range |
|---|---|
| Alkalinity (dKH) | 7.5–9 |
| Calcium (Ca) | 420–450 ppm |
| Magnesium (Mg) | 1300–1400 ppm |
| Nitrate (NO₃) | 5–15 ppm |
| Phosphate (PO₄) | 0.03–0.10 ppm |
📍 Placement
Place on sandbed or lower rockwork to avoid light stress.
Ensure very gentle, indirect flow to keep vesicles clean without tearing.
Allow 8–10 cm clearance — bubble corals can deploy sweepers at night.
