🧬 Overview
The Acanthastrea bowerbanki “Crimson Custard” is a beautiful large-polyp LPS coral known for its bold red coloration and creamy contrasting bands. Bowerbanki corals are highly appreciated for their massive fleshy polyps, thick tissue and impressive presence in reef aquariums.

Compared to Acan Lords, Bowerbanki polyps are much larger and form strong fleshy discs that expand beautifully under stable reef conditions. The warm red tones combined with cream highlights create a classic and elegant colour palette that fits perfectly in mixed reefs or LPS-dominated systems.

Under reef LED lighting the coral displays a rich ruby glow while maintaining its soft cream contrast, creating a vibrant yet natural appearance.

As the colony grows, additional polyps develop around the base forming a larger fleshy LPS cluster.
