💚🟢🪸 Acanthastrea sp. “Toxic Lime Burst”
WYSIWYG Specimen – Dual Fluorescent Green Indonesian Acan
🔹 Quick Stats
Care Level: Easy to Moderate
Temperament: Semi-aggressive (allow space from neighbouring corals)
Colour Form: The Toxic Lime Burst Acan displays two striking tones of fluorescent green across its fleshy polyps. The centers glow with an intense neon-green while the outer rings show a brighter lime-green halo, creating a beautiful dual-green contrast. Under actinic lighting both tones explode with strong fluorescence, producing an electric glow across the polyp ridges. Under balanced white lighting the coral reveals vibrant shades of toxic green, lime and soft emerald tones that highlight the thick tissue structure of the colony.
Water Conditions: 24–26 °C, dKH 7.5–8.5, pH 8.0–8.4, sg 1.024–1.026
Family: Lobophylliidae
Lighting: Low to Moderate (PAR 80–150)
Water Flow: Low to Moderate, indirect flow
Placement: Lower rockwork or sand bed
Type: WYSIWYG – Indonesian Specimen
🧬 Overview
The Acanthastrea “Toxic Lime Burst” is a vibrant Indonesian LPS coral prized for its intense fluorescent green pigmentation. Featuring two distinct shades of green within the same polyp, the coral creates a luminous and energetic look that stands out strongly under reef lighting.
Indonesian Acan varieties are well known for their vivid fluorescence and fleshy polyp structure, making them both attractive and relatively hardy in reef aquariums. Under modern reef LED lighting the neon pigments become extremely bright, giving the coral an almost glowing appearance.
As the colony grows, new polyps form around the base creating a dense cluster of glowing green discs that add colour and texture to the reef aquascape.
WYSIWYG:
You will receive the exact coral shown in the photo. Each specimen is individually photographed and selected for colour intensity, polyp structure and coral health.
Selected for:
• Dual fluorescent green tones
• Strong neon and lime colour contrast
• Thick fleshy Indonesian Acan polyps
• Exceptional fluorescence under reef LED lighting
• Vibrant LPS colony growth potential
🍽️ Care & Feeding
Acanthastrea corals benefit from regular feeding and nutrient-balanced reef environments.
Recommended feeding 1–2× weekly:
• Mysis shrimp
• Finely chopped seafood
• LPS pellets or coral foods
• Target feeding during evening polyp expansion
📈 Optimal Parameters
Parameter | Ideal Range
Alkalinity (dKH) | 7.5–8.5
Calcium (Ca) | 420–450 ppm
Magnesium (Mg) | 1300–1400 ppm
Nitrate (NO₃) | 5–15 ppm
Phosphate (PO₄) | 0.03–0.10 ppm
📍 Placement
Place on the lower rockwork or sand bed where lighting is moderate and water flow is gentle. Provide enough space around the coral as Acan Lords can extend short feeding tentacles during feeding periods.
Avoid placing the coral too close to aggressive LPS species.
